We spent the past two weeks preparing for the school year that started today. Our training began with two days at San Benito, a conference center that allowed us to come and do team building games and get to know each other. Though mixer games are not really my thing, I actually really enjoyed getting a chance to have fun with some of the staff that I didn’t know as well or only knew on a professional level. We also got to spend some time talking about the mission of the school and how we work to make it a reality in our classroom. (And of course there was a staff water fight…)
The next few days were spent going through orientation and prepping for the year. It was a lot of work and I think it is really hard to truly feel prepared for what’s ahead, but our first day went well and I am excited about the group of students that I will be working with. We’ll be sure to keep you updated as we get to know our students better and start up our tutoring program again.
