Two weeks ago today, we were sitting in our living room so excited for Semana Santa to begin. Not only did it mean a whole week with my parents and Luke and Rachel, but James was also going to get to go to Honduras with me for the first time! I was so excited for him to see the place that had pulled my heart to come to Latin America over ten years ago.
While we were in Honduras we spent our time at Jovenes En Camino, a boys’ home that has taken in over 60 boys off the streets and out of abusive or impoverished homes. It had been three years since my last visit, and while we were there I was reminded why it has meant so much to me over the years. We heard so many stories of redemption and hopeful futures because of the good that God is doing through all of the people there. We also got to see the three not-so-little-anymore boys that my family has sponsored for many years. It was so good to see how happy they are.
After a few days in Honduras, we returned with my family to Costa Rica. We went to the beach and relaxed and Luke and Rachel were able to see where we live. We were so grateful for familiar faces and time to rest! The only thing that could’ve made it better was if my sister, Jennifer and her husband, Joe could’ve come too 🙂
It took so long to post this because the last few days that my parents were here and then for about a week after James was sick with some sort of bug. He is finally feeling better, so that is a praise. We would also love prayers as we return to La California this Saturday for more tutoring, games, and relationship building. Thank you for remembering us in your prayers and encouraging us throughout this journey!
